I appreciate the guest post, Jamie Guy

While watching my free satellite tv I realized I should plan a trip to Australia. A good friend of mine lives there and I had not seen her or her son since high school. I started planning immedietly. I was on every website looking flight deals and trying to find the cheapest flight I could. But also one that would be straight through. I had talked with and we had decided to go to the Sydney Wildlife World, The Sydney Aquarium and the Sydney Harbour. Since these were common sight seeing locations, I knew I could buy my tickets in advance and receive a discount for booking my flight and tickets at the same time. Saving me a huge amount of money and making the trip go much more smoothly. I was able to get tickets in advance for her family as well. I would be staying with her, so I had no need for lodging or a rental car, another money saver. We did a lot of other sight seeing and shopping as well. I had to bring gifts back to all my family back home. The trip went great! I got to see so many sights I had never seen before and got to know her amazing family as well.

When it comes to great teen drama, there are few shows that can measure up to the brilliance of “Freaks and Geeks,” a series that shockingly lasted only one season. Over the course of 17 episodes, this series, which I watch on TV By Direct when I have the chance, wittily portrayed the ups and downs of life in a midwestern town in the early 1980s.

The key players are Sam and Lindsay Weir, who are both very nice teenagers. Sam is a sweet freshman in high school who spends his days palling around with wise-cracking Neil and gangly Bill, who have been his best friends since early childhood. They are extremely nerdy and revel in such activities as setting off rockets, watching “Airplane!” and playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Lindsay is an intelligent junior who is reevaluating her life’s path following the traumatic experience of witnessing the death of her grandmother. She takes up with the “freaks,” a group of teens who don’t really fit in anywhere. Daniel is a typical bad boy, and his girlfriend Kim is bitingly cruel at first, while Nick is kind but perpetually stoned. Eventually, she gets to know them all better, and they influence each other as they struggle through school together.

By turns hilarious and poignant, Freaks and Geeks shows just how tough and rewarding high school can be.

Hiking isn’t always something that I’m into. There are times when I’d rather stay at home and enjoy a nice cup of tea in the evening, talk on the phone to my favorite friend, or simply lounge about in pajamas and enjoy the home that I live in.

When weekend rolls along, though, I crave adventure. I want to go outdoors and challenge myself physically and mentally. Hiking allows me to do this. I’ve been hiking for about three years and since the beginning of this journey, it has bordered on something physical and spiritual me. It’s an unexplainable feeling to be outdoors, braving a large hill, knowing that any moment I could drop. I never have though and I don’t have any intention of doing so.

Throughout my hiking experiences, I always make sure to activate my homes alarm system before leaving. I enjoy a good challenge but even I’m not open-minded enough to think that robberies crawling through my home is an exciting thing.

When I know everything is safe, I head out to brave the wildernesses that I’ve chosen for that specific weekend. At the end of my hiking adventure I leave the scene a more spiritually sound person with a lot more willingness to enjoy the week ahead. I’ve learned that I feel better when I perform this kind of physical activity and I plan to do it regularly.

There are many important steps to running a successful fantasy football league. These steps include setting the right price, paying out the right amount of money, setting a draft date that fits everyone’s schedule, setting a good price for transactions, creating a game schedule that will make sense and create drama, and most importantly, knowing who to invite into your fantasy football league.

What kind of fantasy football league do you want? If you want one that is only for a few dollars and amongst friends, then your job is to invite people that get along with one another. The trash talking will be minimal and everyone can get together for a burger and a few beers once in a while. However, if you’re looking for a competitive league, you’re going to want some intensity. In order to do this, invite a nucleus of people that get along, but sprinkle in a few people that despise each other. Also make sure to pit two rivals up against one another in Week One. Your league will take off from there.

If things get out of hand, just send a note out saying that fantasy football through satellite and internet packages is just for fun and that everyone should not be getting all worked up over it. But if things get to tame, simply have someone mention the score from that Week One match-up between the two rivals. Things are sure to get rolling again. I have used this strategy with my fantasy football league for years. If I ever want to change the mood of the league, I log-on to my hughes satellite internet service, log-in to my league, and throw some interesting comments up onto the message board. Works every time.
