Guest post written by Arnoldo Acevedo

There are many important steps to running a successful fantasy football league. These steps include setting the right price, paying out the right amount of money, setting a draft date that fits everyone’s schedule, setting a good price for transactions, creating a game schedule that will make sense and create drama, and most importantly, knowing who to invite into your fantasy football league.

What kind of fantasy football league do you want? If you want one that is only for a few dollars and amongst friends, then your job is to invite people that get along with one another. The trash talking will be minimal and everyone can get together for a burger and a few beers once in a while. However, if you’re looking for a competitive league, you’re going to want some intensity. In order to do this, invite a nucleus of people that get along, but sprinkle in a few people that despise each other. Also make sure to pit two rivals up against one another in Week One. Your league will take off from there.

If things get out of hand, just send a note out saying that fantasy football through satellite and internet packages is just for fun and that everyone should not be getting all worked up over it. But if things get to tame, simply have someone mention the score from that Week One match-up between the two rivals. Things are sure to get rolling again. I have used this strategy with my fantasy football league for years. If I ever want to change the mood of the league, I log-on to my hughes satellite internet service, log-in to my league, and throw some interesting comments up onto the message board. Works every time.

Football players have more than short bursts of power, they have to go all out on every play, running, swim moves, spins, scratching, fighting, punching, diving, running some more, then huddle for a few seconds and do it again 50+ times a game…they do have remarkable endurance as well as power and agility.

To say football players only have short bursts of power is not accurate; and would only be stated by someone who never pla football. Now, the question is which sport has the “Superior Athletes”, Football or Rugby? If you play Rugby you think you are superior because you run the whole time with no break. If you play ball then you think you are stronger and more athletic, just because rugby players do not dish and receive BIG TIME HITS as in football.

I know they hit, but not like a line backer blind-side a QB with a 15 yard sprint, (lawerence Taylor vs Joe Theisman) or a punt returner who catches the ball and gets his ass knocked out by a Special Teams Missle. Obviously, I am partial to football players, but both Rugby and Football have Superb Athletes. The games are different and the games are similar, but neither can say they are superior… IF I HAVE to pick ONE…I go FOOTBALL!
