My best friend is getting married on New Year’s Eve, which I thought was a really great idea and I even encouraged her to set the date for then. Besides, it gave me something fun to do for New Year’s, which I thought would be a nice thing to figure out and get out of the way for my social schedule. But that also means that I wanted to get her something for Christmas that would go along with her new married life.

I’ve been looking at her online registry for quite a bit of time, trying to figure out what I would give them off of it for the actual wedding and what I could buy for them for Christmas that isn’t on the registry. While I was online doing that I found some stuff about some satellite internet packages and after I got some more information, I signed up for one of them.

I decided that I was going to have to get really creative because she had a really long gift registry, so I’m making a Christmas tree out of these really nice cookie cutters that I’m going to give her. I think it’s going to turn out really cute and I can’t wait to see her reaction.

The Newport Aquarium is located right outside of Cincinnati in Newport, Kentucky. I frequent this aquarium often with my husband and two children and really enjoy it. There are currently more than 70 exhibits on display making it that much easier for parents to incorporate learning with fun. Some of the many exhibits include the Frog Bog, Penguin Encounters, the Shark Tank, the Gator Bayou, the Jellyfish Gallery, a rain forest, and Stingrays. The Frog Bog hosts many species of rare frogs from all over the world. My daughter loved Penguin Encounters and even has the picture to prove it! The Shark Tank is amazing and allows visitors to see a sample of how beautiful these creatures really are. The Gator Bayou is located under a bridge and houses American Alligators in their natural surroundings. The Jellyfish Gallery claims to be the biggest exhibit in the Midwestern United States. This tank is massive and currently has more than 100 different species of jellyfish. The Rain Forest houses otters, Burmese Pythons, and Lorikeets (that you can feed). The stingray exhibit allows visitors the opportunity to touch the rays and learn that they aren’t as dangerous as they seem. Before heading to the aquarium, I always set my HomeAlarmSystems home security alarm to ensure all of my property remains safe. The Newport Aquarium will always remain a favorite place for my family to go.

I like to pack up the kids and go to the San Francisco Zoo. Especially popular with my family is the lion feeding exhibit, which we watch with awe and a hint of terror. Also at the top of our list of things to do are the large cat enclosures. The zoo is the one place where the entire family can agree on everything and get along fabulously.

Getting out the door to make our way there is another story. As when preparing to go anywhere, there is generally a lot of mayhem and confusion. It is inevitable that we forget something, but I am always careful to set my home security alarm system (SecurityChoice.com/). This gives us peace of mind that when we return home there will be no unwanted visitors in our home. Safety is huge, and there is no point in taking risks with belongings we have worked so hard to obtain.

All the trouble we go through to reach the exotic animals is well worth it though. I think it is important to educate the family on various species that we share the earth with. Granted the enclosures are not ideal for the animals, but I find zoos work hard to increase the natural feel of the spaces. There is a lot of science behind the knowledge we gain at the zoo, and we enrich our lives by learning from it.

My wife Debra and I are currently on the first day of a wonderful four day cruise that we are going on for our anniversary this year. We’ve gone to many places together, but we’ve never had an experience like this! We haven’t even reached our first destination, but everything has already been incredible. The dining attendants treat you like royalty, and there are so many things to do on the ship. Debra and I also have access to a pool and several hot tubs on the deck. There is also an onboard casino, several swanky bars, and even several stores to do a little shopping.

Tomorrow we reach Nassau. We plan to take a local tour before visiting the famous Atlantis resort. I’m glad I brought my new hearing aid that I learned about from Miracle-Ear.com. It should really come in handy when listening to everything the tour guide has to say.

After Nassau, we get to go to a private island to Jet Ski. Afterwards, we head to Key West for our final day.

This is the life. I can already tell that we are going to need to go another cruise in the future.
